How it functions:
Sponge filter is an efficient and excellent method of filtration for your fish tank. This sponge filter works with an external air pump or an integral water pump.
The air pump pushes air into the hollow cavity inside the sponge filter thru the tubing, and bubbles rise from the toplift tube thus drawing water thru the sponge walls. It provides mechanical and bio filtration for your tank.
Easy maintenance:
Scoop some old tank water out of your tank into a bucket; wash the sponge in the water and squeeze out the buildup until it’s clean. Sponge needs to be cleaned every month. It’s recommended to change out 25-30% of the water weekly.

Constructed with double sponges, each sponge filter is good to use for tank up to 30 gallon. It measures 5.8 inches wide and 6.25 inches high (telescopic tube extended to 9 inches high). The sponge filter is designed to attach to the tank glass by two suction cups.

Clean with tank water
When taking the sponge filter apart, you should wash and clean the sponge foam with tank water instead of tap water.

I love these! The are perfect size for what I needed! They all worked perfectly and sponge filters definitely keep the noice level down! My tank always stays clean and I don’t have to worry about losing baby fish to the filter system.

Stickers don’t stick.
Absolutely great product here! It works 100%. It looks great! Fits in every one of my smaller tanks (20 gal. to 2.5 gal). Easy to use, install, & maintain. Versatile use of the extended neck & swivel motion allows you to direct air/water flow on the surface, not much below it. Worst problem is the stickers not sticking in the beginning & definitely long term. Needs to be pinched with rocks & or wood or aquarium furniture. Still works great though.

Great little filters. It runs perfectly on my grow tanks with lots of tiny fry. Not to powerful, just perfect to circulate water but not strong enough to disturb my little fellas. Over all, great product, better price.

Great sponge filter
These filters are great, a little on the small side which I think a lot of people will find preferable as it’s easier to hide in the tank. You can pivot the arms that hold the sponge so you can draw from lower in the aquarium or stick it straight out if you want to draw from somewhere specific or just fit it around decor. My only suggestion would be to use a more coarse sponge for the filter as I find the finer sponges clog up quicker. A coarser sponge can house just as much beneficial bacteria but won’t clog as fast and may allow more flow through the filter. This is just preference though. Bottom line, for the really low price on four of these, they are amazing.

I was hoping this would be more effective than the typical small single sponge filter since it has two filters with more surface area. It’s not. The small singles performed better judging by the amount of waste remaining on the tank floor. I ran two of these on a Tetra 60/100 pump, so air supply was not the problem.

I love these filters. I have 2 x 10g, 6 x 20g long a number of oddballs and a couple of show aquariums using these filters and they are fantastic.Being able to clean one of the sponges at a time ensures that you don’t kill all the bacteria. It also allows you to trade one new sponge for an in-use one and start a new fully cycled tank. I keep and extra one of these filters running in my 85g show tank so I always have two fully seeded sponges for emergencies.My fish graze the filters continuously and baby fish will not be harmed.These are the only filters my 11 yr old can clean by herself without problems.I have been running several of these filters for more than 5 years without the sponges needing replacing.Sponge filters are the most efficient filtration method in terms of power usage. If you are setting up a fish room then you can use one (large) air pump and many dozens of these sponge filters for 100 watts or less. Air pumps are extremely reliable and long lived. I have never had an air pump of any kind NOT restart after a power failure which I can not say about water pumps like hob or canister filters. I have my air pump on a UPS battery which will run my fish-room for nearly 12 hours drawing only 65 watts.100% recommended!
