No sharp ends after wearing Rubber Caps, no harm for your dog’s neck. If you need it to be more effective, you can take the caps off, but attention not to use it in that situation a long term.
Training collars are not meant for long term use. Once your dog has learned proper leash manners or no longer pulls and mastered good walking techniques, you no longer need to use the collar.

Malinois Mom Approved—Effective, Fair, and Works
I’ll start by saying this, this is not a “set it and forget it” collar. If you don’t understand proper use, sizing, and timing, don’t buy it. But if you do? It works.I have a Malinois and a Husky/Malinois/GSD puppy. They are high drive, strong, and smart. This collar was a game changer. Clear, immediate correction without yelling or repeating myself.Pros:• Smooth prongs (firm, not harmful when used correctly)• Even pressure, instant feedback• Reduced pulling fastCons:• Need pliers to adjust• Fit has to be correct or it won’t workBottom line: this is a training tool, not a casual collar. Used properly, it’s effective and fair. My puppy improved quickly, and my Malinois respects it immediately. Which says everything.

Clasp was impossible to open without pliers at first
I almost sent this collar back because the clasp was so tight I couldn’t open it without pliers. I kept working the clasp tabs with the pliers until they flexed enough that I was able to open the clasp with just my fingers. It’s still stiff, but do-able. I realize the manufacturer had to find a balance between a clasp that would stay shut when the dog pulled and one that was easy for the owner to open. But this was too much. Like I said, I almost returned it, and I imagine some other buyers might have done just that. Other than that, it’s a great collar. My dog is easier to handle and doesn’t pull as much. I really like the idea of a clasp collar instead of one you have to pull over the dog’s head. This was the reason I bought this collar in the first place.

Great for certain breeds alongside proper training and communication
I am genuinely very satisfied with this purchase. Before buying this collar, I was using a gentle leader with my 2-year-old Texas Heeler. He would paw at it constantly, trying to take it off every few minutes during walks, and he could still manage to drag me around. I started looking for a better solution and debated between a martingale collar and this prong collar. With my Texas Heeler’s working-dog drive and relentless stubbornness, I figured this would be the better choice—while the martingale seemed more suited for gentler breeds.Well, this collar feels like a miracle. The difference is night and day. We’ve had it for a week now, and walks are about 95% more manageable. No more pawing at the leader, either.I know some people find prong collars controversial or too harsh, but with proper training and clear communication with your dog, it can be an excellent tool. My dog doesn’t associate the collar with anything negative—he’s still ecstatic to put it on for a walk. I even tried it on myself to make sure I wouldn’t be applying anything cruel or inhumane to my baby boy, and it’s definitely neither, especially with the rubber prong covers. There’s a mild pinch and poke when pulling, but nothing scary.I bought the medium size. His neck measures 18″ at the base and 16″ at the top. The collar came with an extra link, but I removed two, so now I have three spare links on hand in case any need replacing.Overall, I’m extremely happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it for strong, driven working dogs—paired with proper training and communication.

Good product. Recommend it.
Learn to use this tool correctly and you will stop pulling. Recommend Garrett Wing’s videos for instructions. Also recommend always using both D rings for added security. I do not trust the plastic buckle. It did not break but it is no match against my 60 pound meat ball.

Broke after 4 months
Unfortunately, the clasp of the collar broke after four months. I agree with other receivers it was difficult to use the clasp at first and that’s what may have contributed to it breaking for me. Before breaking, I was happy with the collar’s quality and function.

I thought it was inhumane. I was very wrong.
We had tried everything with our 2yo Australian Shepherd. We did formal training with a great dog trainer. She couldn’t break the habit. We did our own independent research and tried every method we could find to break her of the incessant pulling on the leash. Nothing worked. It felt pretty hopeless. She was pulling so hard that she’d often come inside and throw up after having a coughing fit. It was heart breaking and we knew we needed to try something different.We were very hesitant to try this collar because, quite frankly, it looks like a torture device. We’d also talked to some friends who view these types of collars as “inhumane”. The one thing we knew is that we had to try something because our dog was clearly hurting herself with her pulling habit and training wasn’t working.We decided to try the collar and the results were phenomenal. Within the first day of use, the pulling ended. It completely stopped. And not once did it seem like our dog was in pain while she got used to it. In the beginning, she tried to pull but stopped immediately. She simply didn’t like the way it felt when she pulled anymore so she ceased doing it. When she’s not pulling, the collar is comfortable and loose. She figured this out in minutes.Now the act of taking her outside is enjoyable versus stressful.I am so glad we tried it. We’ve learned so much about this type of collar and my view on the subject has completely changed. This collar is not inhumane. Not even close. What we were doing before we used this collar was inhumane. Allowing our dog to choke herself and put major stress on her spinal column was damaging to her body. Had we not made a change, this would have certainly led to long-term health problems.We are about a month in. In a couple of weeks, we’re going to stop using it to see if she even needs it anymore. If she does, we will continue to use it a little bit longer. I’m not in a rush because I know this collar is safe, effective, and keeping my dog healthy.
