Gentle dog shampoo
I have used this doggy shampoo on our springer spaniel cross for many years now. It is gentle, does not dry his skin out and is easy to rinse out of his longish and very thick hair/fur. Definitely cleans the mud and dirt out! Very minimal scent that produces a nice clean air coming from his fur when dry.

Burt’s bees shampoo.
This a very good shampoo for long hair dogs. We use the puppy on our Golden Retriever and the adult on our collie mix. It is our preferred brand of dog shampoo. Our GR has sensitive skin and this works great on him. The shampoo has a nice viscosity, you don’t have to fight the bottle to get the product out. The smell isn’t overpowering, but I wish there was more variety. It’s can last several weeks, but our dogs spend time outdoors and getting muddy/dirty is a favorite pastime.

No lather at all, little suds, very watery
This might be okay for a very short haired dog, a tiny dog or a larger breed with just skin and small hairs like a Doberman or something. But if you have a long haired dog, forget it. This does NOT lather. As in, not lather at all, none. It is this as water and has no consistency like a normal shampoo which you expect to be thicker than water. There is almost no soapiness seen rinsing off your long haired dog, just the water with a little bit of soap…..it is just not a lathery soapy bath. I hate to leave this somewhat negative review because I LOVE all Burt’s Bees products and use their lip balm daily and swear by it. But this dog shampoo just doesn’t cut it, at least for a long haired dog, and you end up using half the bottle for one bath and there is so little soap bubbles going down the drain. It is completely unscented which may be something you like, but I cannot see much actual “soapy cleaning” happening with this watery, non-lathering product. So…..have very short or no hair? Small tiny dog? Maybe it’s okay if your dog isn’t really dirty. Bigger dog, long haired dog, really dirty dog? No way.

I had no issue with the latherabiliy. According to the directions, it is supposed to be shaken first. Yes, the product could be considered thin. But, I didn’t have a problem with it lathering. I have a medium sized pitty and I didn’t have to use a lot.

Für unseren kurzhaarigen Dackel war es ganz okay. Aber für unsere Langhaarigen Hunde war es richtig blöd. Man braucht Unmengen von diesen Shampoo, es schäumt nicht und geht auch nach langem spülen nicht aus dem Fell. Nimmt man ganz wenig, wird der Hund nicht sauber, es verteilt sich einfach schlecht. Aber für kurzhaarige Hunde ist es okay.
