I’m flying with Southwest soon. Is this actually airline approved? It looks a bit bulky in the photos.

Yes! Zipped up, it’s 18x11x11, fitting Delta, United & Southwest under-seat rules. The expansion is for during flight. I keep it zipped for boarding, then unzip in the air for more room.

Can I actually open the expansion sides while the bag is under the seat during the flight?

Definitely! Once cruising, I unzip the side facing me. It lets my cat stretch into a “suite” under the seat instead of being cramped. It keeps them so much calmer and quieter on long flights!

My dog is exactly 15 lbs. Should I get the Large or go up to the XL?

Measure first! Fits pets up to 15″L x 9″H. Weight is just a guide. Measure your pet while lying down. If they fit these specs, it’s perfect for the cabin. For non-flight use, consider the XL.

How are the zippers? My cat is a bit of an escape artist and I don’t want her getting out mid-flight.

Very secure! They have a locking feel so pets can’t paw them open. Pro-tip: Glide zippers slowly at first to align the track. Once broken in, they stay smooth and keep your escape artist safe.

Does this have that strong “plastic” smell when you open it? Is the bed inside soft enough?
