Quality timothy hay pellets with fresh scent and color
These pellets are just what I was looking for to help supplement my outdoor bunnies. Yes, they are listed for guinea pigs but, rabbits also love timothy hay and I liked the additional vitamins and grains added to these for an extra boost to their other food. The box has a handy option to create a pour spout that was easy to work open with the perforated guide. Once opened, I was greeted with the very fresh scent of timothy hay and then noticed the fresh-light green color that I have not seen in this type of pellet before. I put some out for my rabbits and they were quick to find it and started to chow. We had snow a day later and there were still some pellets on the ground – I saw them digging through the covering of snow to get to them. I would say, these are rabbit approved with two thumbs up! Pricing is a good value for the ingredients and quality of the pellets. I will use these blended in with other grains that I feed them to help stretch it out even further. Also, the pile I put out has lasted a long time – and provides them with good texture for their teeth. Would recommend!

Small pellets. Pellets are loose in the box so be careful when opening. Ca/P ratio high. Low vit C
Caveat: I am a veterinarian so this review is a little technical.I got this for my baby guinea pigs and they like the taste of the pellets. The pellets are smaller than adult guinea pig pellets so it’s easy for young guinea pigs to eat. The pellets are timothy hay-based with soybeans for protein. Most other young guinea pig pellets use alfalfa hay for protein but the protein level is the same as other young guinea pig feeds I have. The fiber content is lower though because of the soybeans, which isn’t ideal. Guinea pigs need higher fiber to keep their digestive tract functioning optimally. You’ll definitely want to feed free choice hay along with these pellets, and limit how many pellets you feed. The calcium to phosphorus ratio of these pellets is considerably higher than other pellets (which means calcium is much higher than phosphorus). If you’re feeding this pellet you’ll want to limit feed other high calcium greens (like spinach, collard, and mustard greens). The vitamin C level is lower than I’d like to see. Thus you’ll need to offer another source of vitamin C daily (whether in the water or as a vitamin C supplement).Last but not least, the pellets are loose in the box so be very careful when opening the box. I personally am not a fan of the box because the pellets won’t stay as fresh as in a resealable container. The price is higher than other young guinea pig feed too so I won’t be ordering again.

    A good mistake?
I had requested the Young Guinea Pig Pellet Food, but instead I received the Young RABBIT Pellet Food. I do have two Holland Lops, so this was fine and my bunnies like this pellet food as Small Pet Select has very good quality ingredients. This is geared towards YOUNG rabbits which are rabbits younger than 1 year as this uses alfalfa hay as one of its main ingredients which has a higher protein level compared to other hays like timothy or orchard grass. So if you have a senior rabbit who’s needing to gain weight or a young rabbit, this is for you. If you have a normal size senior rabbit then I would use this sparingly as an extra special treat so that your rabbit doesn’t get too chubby (although they’re still just as lovable!)However, some downsides was that it only comes in a cardboard box and once opening, there are the pellets. So on rainy days like today, the bottom of the box was wet and some of the pellets at the bottom were mushy and likely would get moldy if I didn’t pour out the pellets into my other containers.Made in the USA.

🐹 Young Guinea Pig Pellets 🐹 Good Quality Food 🐹 #1 Ingredient is Timothy Hay 🐹
This Guinea pig food is very good quality. 💜🐹💜 These pellets will make your Guinea pig very happy. 😃🐹😃🐹 Guinea pigs are herbivores (they eat plants) so the #1 ingredient in these pellets is Timothy hay. This pellet recipe is a high fiber formula made with stabilized Vitamin C in small batches. Some ingredients in this Guinea pig food are biotin, soybean hulls, vitamin D3 supplement, wheat middlings, mineral oil, barley, folic acid, rice hulls, flaxseed meal, and organic soybean oil. The ingredients are sourced in the USA, 🇺🇸 and these pellets are made in the USA. 🇺🇸👍❤️😃

Guinea pigs sure seemed to like it.
We have two guinea pigs and lets face it, they generally aren’t that picky of eaters. They happily gobbled this food down in no time. From the perspective of the human caregiver I can say that I love that this came in a box with no additional wasteful packaging. The box has a pour spout that made it easy to dispense with no spillage or mess. I love that the pellets are large, green and smell like hay. I feel like this is a much more natural and appealing pellet food for your furry little friends than a lot of others. Overall, this is a great option for guinea pig food and is the perfect base for a healthy diet.

Fresh and ample supply but guinea pig prefers her normal diet
I ordered this for our guinea pig and she did not prefer this food over her normal food. The pellets look fresh and appear to be in good condition. This is also an ample supply at 5lbs. The pellets are small and thin and would likely be easy for her to eat. Perhaps, she is more acclimated to what she normally likes. I will continue to offer it to her in a side bowl and see if she enjoys it more over time. I will update with further time and use.

    My pig loves it
My guinea pig pup loves this pellet food. He’s still young at only 5 weeks, so I thought this would be perfect for him. The food pieces are little pellets that he’s able to easily fit in his mouth and he digests them just fine (they come out the other end looking as expected). He seems to like it just as much as the food he was using that was recommended by the big-box pet store. The box that it ships in also acts as the container so be careful how you open it as there is a spout on the side you can use instead of cutting open the top (rookie mistake).

    Good quality
This is good quality guinea pig feed. It’s easy to scoop and not that messy. This is a good value for 5 pounds of pellets.
