These work amazingly well!!! I actually Rinse and reuse combined with a tight black foam layer. Once done, I break them up and mix into my potting soil!

These things are awful! I’ve used carbon systems before, but nothing so filthy as these. They blacken you hands when you handle them. And be careful of your clothes. When I rinse them prior to installation, they turn the water absolutely black. I accidentally bought this filter, thinking it was a SmartClean. THAT system works and works well. I’m not even certain it filters all that well. Stay away from their EcoWhatsis and their coal mine filter cartridges.
