Create Picturesque, Realistic Habitat For Shrimps — Shrimps are uncomplicated pets to take care of. However, their development should not be taken for granted. The 3-piece Cholla Woods by SunGrow is the raw dried husk of the Cholla cactus. It has a soft texture and porous structure that allows you to create an original environment needed by your pets for their overall growth.
Excellent Additional Food Source — For shrimps, scavenging is a typical way to look for food. They have plenty of options available in their original habitat to pursue this activity which accelerates their growth. Thus, to have this wood in their habitat is important. They love to chew on this wood. We bet your shrimps would love this addition.
Perfect Climbing Logs — Shrimps don’t go around, they simply climb over on almost anything. With their tiny legs and claws, they are perhaps the most versatile little climbers on the land. Now, get rid of those plastic or rubber climbing sticks. Setup pieces of Cholla Wood to add some height in their habitat and keep them entertained. They would love to climb and venture up and down on these wood logs making it their playground. You may even spot some naughty fellas’ taking a nap atop.
Provides A Secure Hideaway — These little climbers are also great hiders and would bury themselves for many different reasons such as shedding, resting, cooling down or simply having fun with their “me time”. Comes in a pack of 3, you can arrange SunGrow Cholla Wood as you wish to make crevices or caves giving your pet areas to hide and rest. A Connectable Coco Tunnel Hut by SunGrow can help complement your habitat for such activities.
Directions For Usage — When you receive your order, make sure that you soak it in hot/boiling saltwater and sundry it before placing it into the tank. Once you have waterlogged them, arrange them beautifully, and maximize all the visual and functional benefits these woods can provide. Please note since it is a raw product, not each piece will have a similar girth, which further adds a hint of realism because your shrimps won’t see the same logs thrice.

Nice product, great for decorating your aquarium or for shrimp use.
I’m happy with my purchase. Perfect size for my shrimp, easy to clean, and it sank after 3 days. After boiling and scrubbing it, the beautiful color came out. I used two in one tank and the third one in another tank. I will definitely be buying more for my shrimp. Durability is amazing; it met its purpose and is safe for the aquarium. I feel it’s a great value for your money once it sits in your tank and gives it a beautiful look.

I like it
Definitely need to soak them for a while to get them to sink. But great product.

For small tanks
I got these for a 5 gallon aquarium and a 1 gallon shrimp jar. I glued moss to them and they look great. I’d buy them again.

Decent Wood, Really Dirty Inside
I’ve never bought this wood before, so wasn’t sure if it was normal, but the middles of each piece were full of mud. So I wanted to leave a review to let others know.I didn’t notice in the listing that it said to boil them for 10 minutes right off the bat. I did put them to soak in water right away, because I knew they’d need to get water logged so they’d sink rather than float. Then I started reading about how they can be dangerous for Betta fish, because of the holes on the ends. So I decided to split all of mine lengthwise. I was able to accomplish that wish a large, sharp kitchen knife. (Do not recommend trying this at home!)Once I had them split, I was aghast at how much dirt/mud was inside of them. Even if I had boiled them first, I don’t think all of that dirt would’ve come out. So I cleaned the dirt out, smoothed out any rough edges, rinsed them, and put them on to boil. They’re a nice size and length for a smallAquarium. I’m setting up a 3.5 gallon for my Betta. I should’ve done more research, because this isn’t high on the list of wood pieces that are safest for Bettas. Hopefully since I’ve split mine, they’ll be safer. And I do like that they’ll add tannins to the water. I also plan to get a snail, which I think will enjoy them.Because my tank is quite small, I’ll only use about half of the wood now, and save the rest to use as this deteriorates.

Shrimps love it
Great addition to tank, even though they cannot fit inside because they are larger, my amano shrimps love them!!

Perfect.
Very Good. Its a natural product so yes it may release tannins and may have debris. YOU SHOULD be soaking this first in a separate container for at least 24 hours. I found mine was perfect in size and theres room inside for shrimp to hide. My three came in varying thicknesses so between them i was able to place the one i liked most in the tank. I glued an anubias on first and its a perfect host for the plant. Mine is currently soaking and the water is definitely turning brown, so mine has tannins for sure.

Looks great in my aquarium
This is my second time buying these. At first, I was a little disappointed because one of them was kind of skinny and the end was slightly broken. However, one of the pieces was huge – about 2” thick. This more than made up for the scrawny piece. I have it standing upright in my aquarium, and it looks really cool. The other piece in the package was medium thickness, so I guess I received a small, medium, and large assortment. I boiled them for about 35 minutes and let them cool before putting in the tank. My shrimp loved them! I will absolutely buy these again when I need new ones.

Covered in mold, filled with BLACK MOLD
This is the dirtiest cholla wood I’ve ever seen. It smelled very musty out of the bag due to the obscene amount of fuzzy gray mold all over them. The sizes were average for the price. A little skinny but they’d be fine for smaller shrimp. I tried boiling and soaking these, hoping to be usable & not make my fish & shrimp sick, but one of them was packed solid with a foam textured black mold. These are a health hazard and I’m throwing them away immediately.

Came with 3 good-sized pieces. I have a 10 gallon and I put 2 for now. I boiled them for about 15mins and had no issues with them floating when I put them in. My shrimps hang out on and in them all the time. They look good, giving the aquarium a natural vibe.
Anirudhaa Sawant –
My shrimps are liking it.
Ivan DaThug –
Boiled them a little, then left them to soak to cut down on the initial tannin release and get them to sink. Two have sank no problem the other weighted down with a couple of plant weight strips. The shrimp love em. Usually only see a couple of shrimp in the tank at a time but within five mins 7 out of the 9 shrimp in the tank were all over them, even a few of my corydoras popped over for a look see. Worth the money in my opinion, delivery as stated, happy customer.

Sehr begeistert!!
